Ombre Hombre.

I never thought I would ever do anything beauty related on the web aside from the possible Halloween make-up tutorial type thing. HOWEVER I enjoy dying my hair often. So one night when I was in my room watching tv the idea to ombre my hair popped into my head and five minutes later I was on my way to the drug store to buy some dye. This was a few weeks ago, and you're probably thinking, why post now? Well I'm going to cut my hair in a few days and after that the blonde ombre will become purple dip dye. So I figure now is a good chance, I will probably do a follow up post after I put in the purple.

So now on to the review.

I considered just getting some blonde dye and using a dye brush and bowl to try and get the ombre look, until my mom suggested I try the Féria Wild Ombré kit. So I crossed my fingers and hoped that the drug store had it. When I got there they had one box left, it just so happened to be the right color for my hair.

The kit was super user friendly, you just mix the dye like you would with any other drug store brand home dye kit. Then you dispense the dye from the bottle onto the little brush and comb it in your hair where ever you want ombre. You can find MANY tutorials on youtube.

I found the dye job super easy to do. The bleach worked really well, I could see my hair lighten instantly, and since it was on my ends I was able to tell how light my hair was getting and wash it out when I liked the results, I never left it in the full 30 minutes, more like 20. The one thing I noticed though, was the brush I got was MUCH smaller than I was expecting, it worked well and it was a good size, but it was smaller than I thought it would be. After I was satisfied with the lightness of my hair I washed it out and used the shampoo that came with it. It was probably THE best smelling shampoo I have ever used. After I washed it I was nervous that my hair would be dried out from the bleach. I was surprised to find that my hair actually felt healthier, it felt soft and not dry at all. I was highly impressed with the results, both how my hair felt and looked, I couldn't have been happier.

(My hair the day after ombre)

HOWEVER,  it's been three weeks since I did the ombre and I'm ready to change it up. The blonde has faded and my hair has dried out drastically, hence me having to go get my hair cut. I get that my hair would dry out anyway with the everyday wear and tear of blow dryers and curling irons, pony tails and hair clips, but in the three week span since dying my hair it has dried out twice as fast. I was expecting this to happen and I've been waiting for the time to come when I was tired of it so that I could dye it over, with purple.

(My hair three weeks after ombre)

Honestly though, I would really recommend this kit to anyone who wants to give the ombre thing a go, I compared my hair to that of my friend who had hers ombred in a salon and the results, both right after and long after were very similar and I got mine for a huge fraction of the cost (14 dollars to 114, no comparison)
The results were better than I expected for a box dye ombre kit, it was a good price and did exactly what it promised. I was impressed in that my hair wasn't dried out right after the process and it looked great. I loved the results and as for my hair now, three weeks is long enough for one hair style if you ask me.

Crazy Cat Lady Post

Any one who has ever opened my phone and flicked through my pictures would see countless amounts of photos of cats.
CATS CATS FREAKING CATS
Seriously I love cats, all cats, black cats, orange cats, white cats, grey cats, skinny cats, fat cats. But I have no cats. Alas I am the crazy catless cat lady. I would give a toe to be able to own a house full of cats, however my family is allergic and my dorm room at university is strictly pet free, mostly. I have no where to keep a cat and I'm too big of wuss and a rule follower to try and sneak one into my dorm in September when I go back to uni.
I can't even explain why I like cats, I have never been a cat person, I've always loved dogs. But recently I discovered how cute kittens are and how much I want a cat, I have embraced the way of the feline.
I've heard both good and bad things about cats, many on both side of the argument, if anyone who reads this owns a cat it would be awesome if you would give me some feed back that would be great, even though I'm completely sold!
This was a rather short post because there isn't much I can say now without getting repetitive, so I leave you with this.

If you were looking for the blog of a tea drinking book worm, you are in the wrong place. Yes I drink tea and read books, but I'm not that kind of nerd.
I'm the kind of nerd who is well a geek. I bake, I paint, I spend too much time watching movies and I read comics, and well novels.
I love Batman, Wolverine, Iron Man and well the Hulk is pretty cool too.
I don't really know what kinds of things I will be posting, it will mostly just be a summary of the things I do, it won't be often because I procrastinate and it probably will not all stick to one theme.
This blog is going to be a scattered brain account of my life, not daily, possibly not weekly, maybe even five posts a day, who knows.
I feel as though I am about to ramble, and since this is just an introductory post, I don't want to do that..
